AI Readiness Assessment Mapping usage habits, attitudes and organizational conditions
For organizations that want to start not from generic AI development solutions, but from where they actually stand in adopting artificial intelligence.
What is the program about?
A one-month assessment using a questionnaire and a few expert interviews, across the whole organization or a representative sample, covering attitudes, usage habits, competencies and organizational conditions related to artificial intelligence.
Successfully introducing artificial intelligence is far more than a technology question. For new tools to truly become part of everyday operations, we need to understand how people think about them, what they use them for and how, what they are wary of, where they get stuck, and what kind of environment supports or hinders experimentation.
What the organization gets: a more accurate picture of where it stands in adoption; visibility into the differing needs and readiness of various employee groups; identification of quick-win opportunities and critical obstacles; and the ability to target AI training and other development initiatives more precisely.
Who is the program for?
For the whole organization: the assessment does not start from generic AI development solutions, but from where the organization and its various groups actually stand. It is especially timely if readiness varies across organizational units and employee groups, and this needs to be measured.
When is it worth starting?
- a complex AI transformation program needs a solid foundation on the people side
- specific development initiatives, such as AI training, need to be targeted and fine-tuned more precisely to increase their impact.
How we work
The assessment builds on classic approaches to technology acceptance, the Technology Acceptance Model and UTAUT, which have long shown that perceived usefulness, ease of use, the social environment and facilitating conditions play a decisive role in the adoption of a new technology. We translate this perspective to the organization's current situation, broken down by group.
We map attitudes, usage habits, competencies, motivations and sticking points related to artificial intelligence, as well as the leadership, cultural and organizational conditions that shape effective use. The assessment is based on a questionnaire and a few expert interviews, and can be carried out across the whole organization or on a representative sample. The result is not a generic maturity score, but a picture of where different employee groups stand and what they need.
What the assessment covers
- attitudes, expectations and fears regarding artificial intelligence
- current frequency of use and ways of using it
- individual confidence and perceived AI competence
- typical use cases and untapped opportunities
- individual and organizational sticking points
- learning and development needs
- leadership role modeling and support
- willingness to experiment and psychological safety
- available tools, policies and support processes
- differences in readiness between organizational units and employee groups.
Additional outcomes:
- participants reflect more consciously on their own AI use, competencies and development needs
- a shared language and a shared frame of reference for AI use can emerge
- sharing experiences, experimenting and learning from one another can grow stronger
- it becomes clearer what leadership support and guidance are needed
- dialogue between leaders and employees about possibilities, expectations and boundaries can improve
- it lays the groundwork for a differentiated AI development roadmap aligned with business goals and real user needs.
