What is the program about?

A 1- or 2-day group training, in person or online; Thod support available on request.

What you take away: sharper assessment of situations: you will be able to look at your own conflicts from the outside, neutrally; a deliberate choice of strategy suited to the situation instead of the usual reflex; practiced tools for aligning goals and needs, understanding the other party's perspective and reaching consensus decisions.

Conflict Management

Who is the program for?

For leaders and employees alike, in a group format. It is especially timely when discussions between departments or teams regularly turn tense.

When is it worth starting?

  • conflicts tend to be avoided or endured today rather than managed
  • the goal is to develop mediation and rapport-building techniques and verbal and nonverbal communication.

How we work

The backbone of the program is the analysis of real conflicts brought by the participants, together with situational exercises; the methodology and mediation tools provide the framework. The topics also include the OK / not-OK model of ego states, which shows where an argument starts.

Organizational and individual goals rarely align on their own, and friction inevitably arises while aligning them: between two departments, between a manager and an employee, or within a team. That in itself is not a problem. The difference lies in whether a tense situation turns into an argument everyone loses, or into a solution both sides can live with.

The training teaches that difference. Participants get to know their own conflict management style, learn to choose the strategy that fits the situation, and practice the rapport-building techniques that bring the other party's perspective into the picture.

Program topics

  • conflict management styles
  • self-esteem, self-confidence, assertiveness
  • ego states: the OK / not-OK model
  • rapport-building techniques, verbal and nonverbal communication
  • the methodological steps of conflict management
  • mediation
  • analysis of real workplace and personal conflicts, role plays.

Delivery

We tailor the weighting of the topics to the client organization's situation. On request, we support the program with the Thod learning support system, which helps participants keep applying what they have learned between training days.

It is also worth starting if:

  • specific, existing workplace conflicts need to be worked through
  • decisions need to be reached by consensus, in a way everyone can accept.
