Managing Others: Empowerment

Who is the program for?

For leaders who want to boost their team's motivation and performance by giving them more autonomy. It is especially timely when leaders want to involve their teams more in day-to-day work and decisions.

When is it worth starting?

  • greater autonomy should become a way to raise motivation, satisfaction and performance
  • the creativity and innovative solutions within your teams need to be brought out.

How we work

Empowerment rests on five conditions, and the training covers each of them in turn: information, decision-making authority, resources, opportunity and motivation. Where these are in place, the leader stops being a bottleneck; in the training we practice how to hand them over in everyday leadership work.

Empowerment does not mean the leader lets go of control; it means employees get what they need to work independently: information, decision-making authority, resources, opportunity and motivation. Where that is in place, both performance and satisfaction rise, and the creativity within the team comes to the surface; where it is not, the leader remains the single bottleneck.

The training clarifies what empowerment means and practices how to translate it into everyday leadership work. We move from leadership models and styles through trust-building to a jointly shaped vision, using good practices and the participants' own situations. The program ends with a concrete action plan.

We show how to share responsibility so that control and trust stay in balance.
