Leading Meetings and Workshops
This training is for leaders and employees who want to make their meetings focused and effective.
What is the program about?
A 1- or 2-day group training, in person or online; Thod support available on request.
A meeting does not start when everyone sits down, and it does not end when they stand up. Its effectiveness depends on careful preparation and follow-up: whether there is a clear goal and a good agenda, and whether anything comes of the decisions. The meeting itself is just the middle part.
What you take away: clarity on how a well-run meeting is structured, with more deliberate preparation and follow-up practices; the ability to manage the meeting and group processes, with facilitation skills that support decision-making; engagement techniques to get participants actively involved.
Who is the program for?
For leaders and employees who want to make their meetings focused and productive. It is especially timely when meetings are often not focused enough.
When is it worth starting?
- the importance of preparation and follow-up needs to be brought home
- leaders have to handle difficult group dynamics in meetings.
How we work
The training also works outside the meeting itself: on setting objectives, technical and content preparation, and follow-up. Group dynamics get special emphasis: involving participants, facilitating decision-making and handling disruptive behavior, in practice.
In the training, we learn the basic techniques that make a meeting genuinely productive: from setting objectives and technical and content preparation, through structure and running the meeting, to follow-up.
Program topics
- setting objectives
- guidelines for a well-run meeting
- preparation: technical and content
- meeting structure, flow, the agenda
- running the meeting
- handling difficult situations and behaviors that disrupt the group
- follow-up, sharing tips and experiences.
Delivery
We tailor the weighting of the topics to the client organization's situation. On request, we support the program with the Thod learning support system, which helps participants keep applying what they have learned between training days.
It is also worth starting if:
- the goal is to involve attendees and facilitate decision-making.
