What is the program about?

2.5 in-person training days in a group format, in two blocks.

Excellent professional knowledge does not always produce business results on its own. For many experts, selling feels like an unfamiliar or uncomfortable role, so they tend to simply pass on information and leave the decision to the client. GROW sales training resolves this dilemma: selling is not the opposite of expert credibility but its deliberate application in business. Knowledge turns into results when experts can translate it into the client's situation, represent it convincingly and consciously move the collaboration forward.

What you take away: a deliberate, authentic sales mindset that does not override your expert identity; a toolkit for questioning, argumentation and objection handling; more confident negotiation and closing; AI-based tools for preparation and administration; a personal sales action plan.

From Expert to Salesperson – GROW Sales Training

Who is the program for?

For experts and specialist consultants: territory representatives, medical and pharmacy sales representatives, technical, IT, agricultural and commercial advisors, key account managers, and staff who support sales. Experienced salespeople and sales managers attend as well.

When is it worth starting?

  • the expertise is there, but selling feels like an uncomfortable or unfamiliar role
  • clients need to be guided toward a decision authentically, without being pushy
  • the toolkit for handling objections, negotiating and closing needs to grow
  • a more deliberate use of time and AI tools to support selling is also a goal.

How we work

The two and a half days run in two blocks: the second is about putting things into practice, so that in between you can try out what you have learned in your own client situations. The trainers themselves have active sales backgrounds.

The two and a half days progress from a sales mindset and deliberate client management through value-creating client conversations to embedding it all in everyday practice, bringing in AI tools for preparation and administration. Every theory block is immediately followed by practice, using your own client situations and with trainer feedback.

Why did we create the program?

One of the greatest assets of experts and specialist consultants is their high-level professional knowledge: they know their products, their services, the best professional solutions and their clients' operating environment well. For business success, however, professional expertise alone is not always enough. The client's decision is also shaped by how well the expert understands their actual situation, how well they can present the value of the solution from the client's point of view, how they handle doubts and objections, and whether they can steer the conversation toward a clear next step.

The aim of the training is not to turn participants into salespeople in the traditional sense, but to help them become expert business partners who understand the business context of their own work, recognize the opportunities in partner situations, deliberately choose where to spend their time and energy, uncover the client's real needs and decision criteria, turn their professional knowledge into clear client value, confidently lead business conversations and move the collaboration toward concrete next steps.

Program structure

Day 1: sales mindset and deliberate client management. Participants complement their expert role with a business and sales mindset: they look at how their work connects to company goals, which clients hold greater business potential, and how they can build partner relationships. Topics: expert and sales identity; selling as supporting the client's decision; understanding the market and the business context; segmenting the client and partner portfolio; setting priorities based on business potential; building trust with existing and new clients; behavior-based communication based on DISC; attention-grabbing first contact; developing a client-centered value proposition.

Day 2: value-creating client conversations and sales techniques. The focus is on deliberately leading the client conversation. Topics: uncovering client needs and business opportunities; deliberate and creative questioning techniques; active listening, mirroring and summarizing; tailored argumentation; exerting influence; business presentations; handling objections and difficult client situations; negotiation goals, needs and room for maneuver; closing conversations and agreeing on next steps.

Day 3 (half day): deliberate and effective sales practice. Participants organize what they have learned and translate it into their own work. Topics: structuring an effective client meeting; preparing questions, arguments and likely objections; deliberate follow-up and sales administration; using AI tools to support selling; creating a personal sales action plan.

Days 1 and 2 run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and day 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program combines theory and practice: every theoretical topic is followed by a training exercise, working through your own client and business situations, with role-plays and business simulations, peer and trainer feedback, and short application tasks between the training days.

How does all this show up in business results?

  • More deliberate partner prioritization helps employees devote more attention to high-potential clients and opportunities.
  • Deeper needs exploration and a more precise business diagnosis increase the chance that the offer responds to the client's actual situation.
  • Communication built on client benefit strengthens the value of the solution and can reduce the risk of the decision being made on price alone.
  • More confident objection handling and negotiation can help ensure that fewer business opportunities stall or get lost along the way.
  • Clear closes and next steps can speed up the client's decision-making process, while more deliberate meeting planning can improve the quality of client activities.
  • Using AI tools can reduce the time spent on preparation and administration.

Participants receive a certificate on completing the training.
