What is the program about?

One- or two-day group training, in person or online, built on the DISC behavioral typology; also available with Thod support.

What you take away: knowledge of your own behavioral model and natural preferences; the basics of DISC and the practice of DISC-based communication; a more open attitude toward other types, and the ability to change your habitual behavior in the middle of a situation.

DISC-Based Self-Awareness

Who is the program for?

For leaders and team members who want to better understand their own and others' behavioral preferences. It is especially timely when team members want to better understand their own natural behavioral preferences.

When is it worth starting?

  • recognizing other people's behavioral types is needed to deal with them better
  • the goal is a more open, accepting attitude toward other ways of operating.

How we work

The four DISC factors are present in everyone, just in different proportions; the key idea of the training is that better collaboration does not require changing your character, shaping your behavior is enough. We work with a questionnaire, small-group exercises and film clips.

Everyone has natural behavioral preferences: situations in which they feel at home, and others that are a strain. Those who know their own can make better use of the potential in their personality, and they also see when it is worth doing something other than what their reflexes dictate. The DISC model describes behavior along four main factors.

The exercises lead from recognizing your own type to dealing with others in a way that suits their type, so that differences become a collaborative advantage.

Program topics

  • DISC self-awareness questionnaire
  • recognizing behavior patterns in a small-group exercise
  • the theoretical foundations of the DISC behavioral typology, in an interactive presentation
  • type recognition by working through film clips tailored to the target group
  • using the strengths of your own type
  • recognizing other people's types: “magic words and phrases,” dealing with each type appropriately.

Delivery

We weight the topics to fit the client organization's situation. On request, we support the program with the Thod learning support system, which keeps participants applying what they have learned between training days.

It is also worth starting if:

  • you should build more consciously on your own strengths.

Further results:

  • awareness in building on your own strengths.
