Who is the program for?
For leaders who want to shift the emphasis from problems to strengths and, in doing so, strengthen engagement. It is especially timely when employee engagement needs a boost.
When is it worth starting?
- the organization focuses more on problems than on strengths, and that needs to change
- leaders want to consciously build recognition into their daily leadership practice.
How we work
At the heart of the method is positive inquiry: conversations that look not for what's wrong but for what works, and build momentum from it. The two days start with the role of appreciation and self-esteem and end with five concrete strategies for putting it all into practice in your leadership work.
Solutions emerge where attention goes. If an organization constantly talks about problems, they take center stage; if it talks about strengths and what works, those grow stronger. Appreciation-based leadership builds on this insight: it takes a positive approach to processes, situations and opportunities, and brings out the best in people by helping them recognize and become aware of their own best skills.
We also look at the links between employee engagement and appreciation. Participants practice positive inquiry and appreciative communication on their own leadership situations.
