Transactional Analysis (TA)
Licensed / external methodologyBuilding awareness of ego states and relationship patterns.
- Uncovers the patterns behind recurring conflicts
- Builds awareness of communication and behavioral strategies
Transactional analysis (TA) is Eric Berne's theory of personality and communication. Its basic concept is the ego state: we communicate from the Parent, Adult and Child ego states, and every exchange of messages between two people, a transaction, takes place between these states. The model shows where messages come from and where they are directed, why certain conversations go off track, and which recurring games we step into without noticing. The OK Corral describes our basic stance toward ourselves and others, while the script is the life plan that is set early and keeps operating later in life. In the programs, participants work with an ego-state questionnaire, explore their own “package” and use role-plays, so that the pattern behind recurring conflicts becomes visible and connection can happen at an adult level. It is a methodological pillar of GROW's Integrative Coach Training, and we also run it as a standalone training.

NLP
Licensed / external methodologySupports behavior change by consciously modifying the structure of thoughts (image, sound, feeling).
- Reframing beliefs, stress management, motivation, conflict management
- We use it to expand the coaching toolkit
NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is the art of learning and change: a communication toolkit that can support the development you want. Neuro: all our behavior is rooted in neurological processes, and we use our nervous system both in perceiving and in thinking. Linguistic: thinking and language are inseparable; when we want to say something, we put the image, sound or feeling in our head into words, and the listener converts it back into their own image, sound and feeling. Programming: our thoughts have a specific structure, and we are able to modify that structure; when our thoughts change, our behavior changes, and with it our habits and actions. In coaching, it can be used for many kinds of blocks, from reframing beliefs through stress management to motivation and resolving conflicts; in GROW's Advanced NLP – Creative Coaching Techniques workshop, we practice eight specific techniques, each one both as the person guiding and as the person experiencing it.

Gestalt
Licensed / external methodologyPresence in the here and now: working consciously with blocks and contradictions.
- Builds deeper emotional awareness and self-awareness
- Works by recognizing one's own and others' subjective view of reality
The Gestalt approach is built on the here and now: on what is happening in the present, in the room, and on how a person relates to themselves, to others and to their environment. Its main tools are awareness, contact and experimentation: through clear observations and feedback, participants recognize the patterns in how they function and where they get stuck, and try out new ways of operating within a safe framework. In team coaching, Gestalt interventions focus on the team's forms of connection, polarities, subsystems and peripheries. It is a methodological pillar of GROW's Integrative Coach Training and a two-day module of the Integrative Team Coach Training, and we also run it as a standalone self-awareness training.

PCM®
Licensed / external methodologyA scientifically validated, innovative toolkit for connecting effectively: communication based on personality types, including for handling stressful situations.
- Participants work with their own personality profile
- Shows how to adapt communication to the other person's type
- Makes stressful situations, and the patterns people fall into in response, recognizable
PCM® (Process Communication Model) is a scientifically validated, innovative toolkit that enables you to connect effectively with others. The model describes six personality types that are present in everyone, but in a different order and proportion; this determines which communication channel a person prefers, what motivates them and how they behave under stress. If you recognize these signs in someone's behavior, you can communicate in a tone that suits their type and respond to stress signals in time. In the programs, participants learn the basic concepts of the model and the structure of personality through their own, pre-completed personality profile, then practice applying all this in everyday life: communication styles, tools and recognizing stress signals, with colleagues and partners alike. At the advanced level, life positions, drivers, beliefs and distress behaviors are also covered.

Solution Focus
Licensed / external methodologyA solution-focused approach: instead of analyzing the problem, it works toward the desired state.
- One of the methodological pillars of the Integrative Coach Training and the Integrative Team Coach Training
The solution-focused approach (Solution Focus) directs attention to the desired future and to the solutions that already work, rather than to analyzing problems. Its core questions are about goals, exceptions and small steps: when does it already work better, and what would it take for it to work that way more often? Its tools, such as scaling, the miracle question and resource exploration, can be used in individual coaching and with teams alike; in team coaching, the Solution Circle provides a framework for exploring the team's shared goals and resources. It is one of the methodological pillars of GROW's Integrative Coach Training and a standalone module of the Integrative Team Coach Training.

What is the program about?
Two consecutive levels, nearly a year in total: in-person training days, small-group and individual practice, supervision and Thod learning support. The foundation level covers the methodological basics of coaching, while at the advanced level we learn and practice the toolkits of Transactional Analysis, NLP, Gestalt, PCM® and Solution Focus.
GROW's Integrative Coach Training has been running since 2012. Anyone can apply for the foundation level with a motivational essay: here we learn the coaching mindset, questioning techniques and the GROW model through hands-on, first-person practice. The advanced level is for those who have completed the foundation level or are already practicing coaches, and it offers depth and practice in five methodologies: Transactional Analysis, NLP, Gestalt, PCM® and Solution Focus. By the end of the program, through practice and continuous feedback, everyone develops their own coaching style and personal coaching model.
What you take away from the program: eligibility to apply for the EMCC Foundation credential after the foundation level and for the EMCC Practitioner credential after the advanced level. After the advanced level, once you have completed the required coaching hours and mentoring, you can also apply for the ICF PCC credential; membership in the GROW Alumni community, with free knowledge-sharing events every six months; after the advanced level, the opportunity to collect practice coaching hours with our partner organizations (BKK, Konnekt Egyesület).
Foundation level

Advanced level

Who is the program for?
The foundation level is for those who are just getting to know coaching and self-awareness work; the advanced level is for practicing coaches and those who have completed the foundation level. It is especially timely if you need a practice-oriented program where you can develop through regular feedback.
When is it worth starting?
- if your goal is to gain practice in several coaching methodologies, so that you can always choose the method that fits the client and the topic
- your goal is international accreditation (ICF, EMCC) and coaching competence that meets international standards
- you are looking for a self-awareness-focused, experience-based, high-quality program that is a pleasure to take part in.
How we work
We are convinced that self-awareness and a commitment to one's own development are essential for working in human development. If coaches are not at peace with themselves and cannot see their own personality, blocks and games, they will not be able to develop others well. That is why, throughout the program, participants learn and experience the coaching approaches and tools through first-hand experience: while their own personality develops, they gradually master the coaching attitude and skills.
Generál Péter, the program's former professional director, summed up the feedback like this: “We often hear that the program offers an unforgettable learning experience, and that our participants experience the process as a truly joyful training.”
What does international accreditation mean in practice?
After completing the foundation and the advanced level, participants are eligible to apply to the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) for an international credential at Foundation or Practitioner level respectively, which, thanks to the program's accreditation, is a simplified, administrative procedure. The advanced level also holds ICF Level 2 accreditation: after completing the advanced level, reaching the number of coaching hours required for accreditation and completing the mentoring required to submit the exam, participants can submit their accreditation application to the ICF for the PCC credential.
Foundation level
Content of the foundation program:
- 4.5 training days, including 2 × 3 hours of small-group practice supported by a mentor coach, where you can practice the coaching process with feedback
- 4 × 3 hours of small-group practice at individually arranged times, with mentor-coach support for 3 hours of these sessions
- 6 hours of individual coaching practice.
For foundation-level applicants, we also look at their self-awareness experience. If you have not yet taken part in individual therapy or coaching, we recommend 5 hours of individual coaching as personal experience alongside the program. The foundation level, nearly 50 hours in total, provides the fundamental mindset and skills of coaching so that participants can hold developmental conversations along the GROW model; to this end, they receive the necessary theoretical background, the question types and plenty of opportunities to practice, and they learn the process, steps and critical points of psychological contracting.
Advanced level (Practitioner)
The advanced level includes 11 full training days, 1 day of supervision and 26 hours of individual work (learning-group meetings and other individual assignments, at individually arranged times). Participants master the theoretical background and practice of the five coaching methodologies by applying each model; by the end of the level they are able to run coaching processes independently and handle the most common coaching challenges, and they receive support in formulating and further developing their own coaching model. The advanced level is open to coaches who have completed the foundation level or have at least equivalent experience.
Why GROW's Integrative Coach Training?
- Senior coach-trainers: when you are learning a new profession, the trainers' expertise and experience in passing on knowledge make a real difference. The program's trainers are experienced coaches and mature personalities shaped by many years of self-awareness work, who, with many thousands of hours of training experience, pass on their knowledge at an international standard.
- Experiential, practical and deep knowledge: we don't offer a crash course but a thorough grounding in a new profession, embedded in a personal development process. Participants learn the theoretical background and the models through first-hand experience and exercises, and at every session they step into the coach role themselves, so that they can apply what they have learned immediately in the safe setting of the training, with feedback from mentor coaches.
- Practice outside the sessions too: in small groups of three, continuously rotating the roles of coach, client and feedback giver, so you also gain first-hand experience from the client's side; in addition, coaching practice takes place with individual clients, in real settings.
- Supervision at both levels, where difficult coaching cases can be brought in and worked through; we also offer further supervision sessions after the program.
- The classroom days are complemented by the Thod blended learning system, which offers additional learning materials, articles and videos, tasks for testing your coaching knowledge, and all program information in one place.
- Flexible cooperation: we are easy to reach whenever you have a question or need advice.
Why does it take nearly a year?
Personal development and self-awareness work are not a matter of a few days; we want to give future coaches the time and space they need for it. Participants develop through many forms of learning: they work through required reading, work with their own clients and take part in group practice sessions outside the training days. We have designed these activities so that they can be done alongside work and family. The length of the program thus allows participants to process what they have learned, become aware of their own development path (we ask them to keep a learning journal for this), gain practice and cope with their everyday tasks at the same time.
Legal background
Under the adult education regulations in force since July 31, 2020, anyone may use the title “coach” and anyone may provide coaching services. This is one more reason why GROW considers training built on international standards, and the opportunity to obtain an international credential, so important.
Participants receive a certificate on completing the program.
