NLP
Licensed / external methodologySupports behavior change by consciously modifying the structure of thoughts (image, sound, feeling).
- Reframing beliefs, stress management, motivation, conflict management
- We use it to expand the coaching toolkit
NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is the art of learning and change: a communication toolkit that can support the development you want. Neuro: all our behavior is rooted in neurological processes, and we use our nervous system both in perceiving and in thinking. Linguistic: thinking and language are inseparable; when we want to say something, we put the image, sound or feeling in our head into words, and the listener converts it back into their own image, sound and feeling. Programming: our thoughts have a specific structure, and we are able to modify that structure; when our thoughts change, our behavior changes, and with it our habits and actions. In coaching, it can be used for many kinds of blocks, from reframing beliefs through stress management to motivation and resolving conflicts; in GROW's Advanced NLP – Creative Coaching Techniques workshop, we practice eight specific techniques, each one both as the person guiding and as the person experiencing it.

What is the program about?
A one-day in-person group workshop with NLP-based coaching techniques.
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) works with the structure of our thoughts: the images, sounds and feelings in which we store a situation, and how we can deliberately change them. In coaching, this can help with many kinds of stuck points, from reshaping beliefs and managing stress to motivation and resolving conflicts.
What you take away: hands-on knowledge of eight specific NLP techniques, from belief change to the strategy for receiving criticism; experience of every technique both as the one leading it and as the one experiencing it; a broader toolkit for reshaping beliefs, managing conflict and motivating others.
Who is the program for?
For practicing coaches who have completed or are currently completing the advanced level of GROW's Integrative Coach Training, or who want to build on NLP foundations learned at another institution. It is especially timely when you need to bring new coaching techniques into your client work and want to try them out in a safe environment first.
When is it worth starting?
- your toolkit for reshaping beliefs, resolving conflicts and motivating others needs to grow
- NLP knowledge gained elsewhere calls for a practical day with a coaching focus.
How we work
We learn eight specific techniques and try each one from two roles: as the guide, who leads the technique, and as the explorer, who experiences it. That way you remember not only the steps but also what it is like on the other side.
The day's techniques include the Swish pattern, the strategy for receiving criticism, re-evaluating the past and six-step belief reframing, all in a form you can use right away. The one-day workshop is a supplementary session of the advanced level of GROW's Integrative Coach Training, but it is also open to those who learned the basics of NLP elsewhere.
What is NLP?
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is the art of learning and change: a communication toolkit that can support the development you want. Neuro: all of our behavior is rooted in neurological processes; we use our nervous system in sensing and perceiving just as much as in thinking. Linguistic: thinking and language are inseparable; when we want to say something, we put the image, sound or feeling in our head into words, and the listener turns those words back into their own image, sound and feeling. Programming: our thoughts have a specific structure, and we are able to modify that structure; when our thoughts change, our behavior changes, and along with our behavior, our habits and actions change too. This is where the power of NLP lies.
